A Calling from the Ascended Master Lord Lanto
The Divine works in mysterious ways. I received a message from a reader on my site, to direct them to my article on Lord Lanto on my site. I couldn't remember writing one, but I went looking and I was right, I had not yet written one and so I had just touched base with Lao Tzu who I have also not written about yet, but I will following this one, because I was feeling extremely drawn to the etheric retreats of China.
Who is Lord Lanto
Lord Lanto is known in the old ascension teachings as a master of illumination, a quiet and disciplined keeper of the golden flame who embodies the wisdom-path of stillness of the mind. Lord Lanto is portrayed as an ancient adept of China whose mastery came through stillness, inner refinement, and the ability to hold a steady field of clarity that awakens the higher mind in those who enter his sphere of energy. His presence is directive, subtle, exact, and precise, working through the gentle expansion of understanding. Lord Lanto’s role is to strengthen the inner flame of knowing, which is the part of consciousness that sees truth without distortion, and his etheric retreats are described as places where the mind becomes quiet enough for genuine illumination to rise.
The Second Ray of Illumination
Lanto is traditionally associated with the Second Ray of Illumination, which is expressed as the yellow–gold ray and not the bright solar yellow of surface teachings, but the deeper, refined golden flame that represents clarity, wisdom, and the quiet expansion of higher understanding. In the ray system, the Second Ray is the field of mental stillness, disciplined thought, and the awakening of inner knowing, and Lord Lanto is one of its primary masters alongside Kuthumi, Djwal Khul, the Bodhisattva Maitreya, and Confucius.
Lord Lantos Light is subtle, exact, and inward, working through the golden flame that stabilises the mind and reveals the truth without ego distorting it. He is the Yellow Ray, but specifically the golden aspect of the Yellow Ray which is the energy of illumination rather than the intellectual or analytical side of the Ray.
The Etheric Temple of Illumination
The Etheric Temple of Illumination connected with Lord Lanto is described as an eastern counterpart to the Great Teton Retreat. It is held in the higher etheric layers above the Himalaya–western China border region, where the golden flame of wisdom is refined through stillness. This is the Retreat that I am drawn to and not the Great Teton Retreat. The Etheric Retreat of Illumination carries a distinctly monastic energy of quietness, exactness, and draws us inward. It functions as a field where the mind is stripped of noise, and the deeper essence of illumination becomes accessible. Unlike the Teton Mountain Retreat, which is more of a teaching centre, Lord Lanto’s eastern retreat is subtle and precise, operating like a temple of silence bringing clarity where the golden flame is absorbed instead of instructed. The closest areas that we can visit that align with the etheric retreat are Lhasa, Shigatse, and Gyantse on the Tibetan side, and Xining in Qinghai Province on the Chinese side. These landscapes mirror the stillness and altitude associated with the Etheric Temple of Illumination energy field.
Inside the Etheric Retreat
The atmosphere inside the Etheric Temple of Illumination is described as profoundly quiet, refined, and precise. They say that when you meditate on this etheric temple all mental noise drops away and the golden flame of wisdom becomes perceptible as a steady, inner glow rather than an external teaching. Because there is no sense of ceremony or movement here; the retreat functions like a vast, silent sanctuary suspended in the etheric layers, where clarity is absorbed through stillness and the mind is gently aligned to its higher octave. The energy is precise, disciplined, and deeply peaceful, carrying the unmistakable signature of Lord Lanto’s mastery.
Experiencing the Temple of Illumination
I needed to experience the Temple of Illumination before I could continue writing about it. I closed my eyes and drew my awareness to my Alpha chakra and you can do this too. I set the intention to visit the Temple of Illumination, the etheric retreat of Lord Lanto. I visualised the golden frequency of the golden yellow ray filling my Alpha chakra. A Chinese‑style temple formed in my inner vision, with a great master seated on a chair. My eyes rolled back in my head which is a sign that my mind plane is clearing. There was just stillness then, and silence amongst the humming of my air conditioner and thundering of my fan in this Egyptian heat.
I saw another vision of a green plant growing out of a rock. Possibly the symbol of new life or even growth that emerges when you are able to sit in the stillness. I saw myself as a small child kneeling before the master, and he leaned down and placed something like a ball of clay or soft putty into my hands. I felt the message was to experience rather than seek a reason or a teaching. This is an experience for the senses; this was a reminder that illumination is absorbed through experience and not something we study in order to attain it. My eyes continued flickering back as my mind adjusted to the frequency, holding me in the quiet stillness of the Etheric Retreat of Illumination. I felt it was time now to come back to the blog post and share my experience and the energy through my writing.
So, my personal experience shows me that to be in the Temple of Illumination, the mind must drop completely; the upward flickering of the eyes signals the clearing of the mind plane, and in that clearing the field becomes accessible. When the awareness lifts into the brow and the eyes are held in that upward position, thought dissolves and the stillness of the retreat reveals itself. Illumination in Lord Lanto’s sphere is not a process of learning or analysing, but a state of perception where the senses open, the mind quiets, and the golden frequency can be absorbed without distortion. This is why the retreat appears only when your own inner field has become silent enough to match it: the Temple of Illumination is entered through stillness, and surrender and the experience itself becomes the teaching.
Qualities of the Golden Ray
The golden ray carries the qualities of clarity, stillness, inner knowing, refinement, precision, illumined perception, quiet expansion, and absorption. It's a frequency that quiets the mind, sharpens awareness, and allows wisdom to rise naturally from within rather than through thought or analysis, functioning as a subtle internal light that reveals truth without distortion and expands consciousness through experience rather than study.
Lord Lanto's Previous Incarnations
Lord Lanto’s past lives are described in the old ascension teachings as one that consistently expresses the same pure essence of wisdom across his lifetimes.
He is portrayed as an early sage of the Zhou Dynasty, a quiet master whose clarity and stillness shaped the foundations of Chinese inner‑wisdom long before the later philosophical schools emerged. In some accounts he appeared again within the royal courts as a teacher whose presence brought discipline, exactness, and the ability to perceive truth without distortion.
Lao Tzu and Confucius are linked to his field not as his incarnations but through and overshadowing, which means Lord Lanto’s golden ray influenced their missions and helped shape the clarity and purity they expressed.
Older lineages also describe a Lemurian embodiment where he served as a priest of the golden flame, working through absorption and stillness rather than ceremony.
Across these lifetimes, the theme is always the same. Lord Lanto's soul has always carried the golden ray of illumination, expressing wisdom through quietness, inner refinement, and the direct absorption of truth rather than intellectual pursuit.
Lord Lanto and the Etheric Temple of Illumination
Lord Lanto’ teaches us that illumination is something that emerges naturally when the mind becomes quiet enough to receive it. His golden ray shows us that wisdom is an inner awakening that happens when thought dissolves and we are left with only stillness of mind. In this state knowingness is there. The Temple of Illumination reflects this perfectly as a place of stillness where the deeper truth reveals itself through experience. My own journey into this retreat reminded me that illumination is absorbed, not learned; it comes when we surrender the noise, lift into the higher mind, and allow the golden frequency to refine our awareness from within. Lord Lanto’s gift comes when we stop seeking and simply become still enough to see.
The Fifth‑Dimensional Mastery of the Mind
The Temple of Illumination and Lord Lanto's golden ray both correspond to the fifth dimensional mastery over the mind plane. This is the level where thought becomes transparent and consciousness begins to operate through direct knowing rather than analysis. The fifth dimension represents the transition from dualistic thought to unified awareness, where the mind no longer divides experience but perceives truth as a single field. This is a fifth dimensional initiation, which coincides with the oneness of the mind.
Second Ray and Fifth Ray Similarities
Lord Lanto and Lord Hilarion who works with the Emerald Green Ray on the 5th Ray path, both work with mind‑mastery, but they operate on different octaves of the same spectrum. Lord Lanto’s golden ray purifies the mental body through stillness, dissolving thought until knowingness appears naturally. Hilarion’s emerald green ray refines the mental body through truth, sharpening perception until distortion falls away. Lord Lanto quiets the mind so wisdom can rise; Hilarion clarifies the mind so truth can be recognised. When you step into fifth‑dimensional consciousness, these two processes begin to merge -stillness and truth become one movement, and the mental body becomes transparent enough to hold the immaculate concept, which is the ability to hold pure thought on behalf of others, which is a gift we need when we work with healing, especially distant healing. This is Lord Hilarion's mastery. Lord Lanto of the 2nd Ray, the golden yellow ray, prepares the mind for illumination, and Lord Hilarion of the 5th Ray, the emerald-green ray, stabilises that illumination into pure thought. They are two sides of the same mastery, meeting in the fifth dimension where the mind becomes a vehicle for higher intelligence.
The collaboration between Lord Lanto and Lord Hilarion is referenced specifically in the I AM Activity, the Bridge to Freedom, and later the Summit Lighthouse ascension teachings. These are the three original ascension lineages that mapped the rays, the retreats, and the masters’ functions within the mental and spiritual initiations. In these teachings, Lord Lanto is described as refining the mental body through illumination on the Second Ray, while Ascended Master Lord Hilarion refines it through truth on the Fifth Ray. Their work overlaps in the initiations of the mind, where the golden and emerald rays blend to produce clarity, discernment, and the capacity to hold the immaculate concept.
